Less Steel, Less Often
Mineral processing will always be an energy-intensive industry, but there are opportunities for contributing to emission reductions.
In order to contribute to reducing global emissions, many of Makuri’s products are manufactured in a modern, recently-commissioned foundry which complies with all international environmental standards. This reduces our carbon footprint during the manufacture process and also reduces particulate pollution.
Makuri products are designed to maximise life and minimise power consumption during operation. By minimising steel usage in an operation, the energy input and emissions to produce replacement parts is greatly reduced.
We endeavour to recycle all of our used components where possible, as the energy required in remelting and recycling steel is much less than that required to produce the same steel from raw materials.
